How many colors is your label?
At Label Express, custom artwork and custom labels are no problem. We can print up to eight colors per label or four color process labels. We use the industry-standard Pantone Color Matching system so that we can accurately and consistently provide you with the selection of colors you need.
We have a Professional Art Department to provide you with any help you may need on your custom labels. If you wish to provide us with your artwork, we prefer (Macintosh) Macromedia Freehand, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
What kind of material do you need?
We offer (but are not limited to):
(Thermal Transfer/Direct Thermal/EDP / DSX)
synthetic coated paper, similar to a heavy photo paper that is water resistant and very difficult to tear
Direct thermal printers utilize a thermal print-head to apply heat to your label paper. The facesheet on direct thermal labels is chemically treated to darken when warmed. Thus, your image is created in the path of the print-head. This functionality eliminates the need for ink, toner, or printing ribbons but results in a less-durable final product.
(upon request)
common stock paper options for the classiest of label uses
smooth, flexible sheet of tear-resistant, scratch-resistant paper
Thermal transfer is less expensive where the heat is applied to wax or resin-based ribbon instead of the label. The ribbon ink is then pressed and absorbed into the label paper creating your print. Thermal transfer printers require that thermal ribbon to work, but the final product is much more durable as a result.
